International Student Outreach - Scrabble Night

Erica is a first year student at Rutgers Newark that organized the Living Scrabble Game Night. Her work was excellent as she orchastrated every detail of the Living Scrabble Game as well as invited new people in the fellowship to serve. She is currently a small group leader in Talbot Hall at Rutgers-Newark! Let's praise the Lord for Erica's leadership and service on campus!

New Student Outreach

New Student Outreach is a concentrated time at the beginning of each semester to well, reach out to new students. Our hope is to meet, greet and learn about the spiritual status of as many students as we can. By doing this we are able to invite them to join the InterVarsity family where they can learn more of God and his son Jesus. We have met over 150 students and are now helping those students connect with our small group ministry.

Students enjoying a meal as they hear 11th Hour Band, live Indian band leads in worship and musical selections.

Our Church Tour every semester continues to help new students connect with IVCF and build a strong connection between campus and the local church. Here is group of students on Jan. 24 at our first church tour of the semester. We are thankful to Vroom St church and Pastor Bill Sweeting for hosting the students so generously!

God Calls Students...

These six students have answered God's call to serve their campus. It's easy to check in and out of college life - just going to class and having a consumer mentality. But, these students believe that God loves their campus and all who are a part of it.

We have begun planning for next semester. Please pray for these students as they trust the Lord with their lives and commit to live out their faith and develop their leadership skills while they are in college in Newark! Three of these students will be at Urbana 2009!

Highlights for the January 2009:
January 19, 2010 - Intercessory Prayer Night for IV-Newark, 7 p.m.
January 25, 2010 - Worship and Praise Night, 8 p.m.
January 29, 2010 - ADONAI AREA WIDE Worship Night, 7 p.m.

TWO CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR IV-NEWARK!

The Lord has truly been providing for the ministry and we praise the Lord for his faithfulness. As we approach the end of the year, IV-Newark was awarded a special financial gift from The Goodwill Rescue Mission in Newark. The staff team collected a year end offering. Thank you!

'
Moises and I were presented a year end offering for the ministry via Director Rev. Jim Benton of the Goodwill Rescue Mission.

IV-Newark was also given an OFFICE. Yes, a space to call our own just three blocks from the NJIT campus. We are so thankful to Pastor Joe Carter from The New Hope Baptist Church who has gifted the ministry so generously. This space will enable us to have a place to train and fellowship with students. We are working on furnishing the office and getting it ready before the start of the Spring Semester!
